It is recommended that electrical installations are inspected
and tested at regular intervals. That test can vary from a visual inspection to a full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) that tests the fixed wiring and accessories. We can test to find faults with systems such as RCD nuisance tripping
Many people contact me with a RCD that trips and will not reset often leaving all or a good part of the property without power. Sometimes this because of a fault within the fixed wiring of the house but often it is because of something plugged in. I have written a short procedure to follow to perhaps assist you to rectify or isolate the fault. You can download it below.
